Health And Safety Considerations
The supplier of MT consumables is obliged to make available to the purchaser, all relevant health and safety data applicable to the supplied goods. The user also has an obligation to comply with the health and safety requirements. See also the COSHH Regulations in Unit MT11.
Specific health and safety considerations are:
Flammability:
Read container labels for flash points. BS EN ISO 9934-2 simply states the flash point will be assessed by an open cup method and the flash point reported.
Asthmatic:
Do not use in confined spaces without masks or adequate ventilation.
Skin hazard:
Use protective clothing.
The flash point is the temperature at which a substance will ignite in the presence of a naked flame or spark. The higher the flashpoint temperature, the safer the substance.
